NASW endorses Kate Segal for house seat
Kate Segal, Democratic candidate for the state House District 62 seat, has been endorsed by the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

According to the NASW Web site, it's the oldest and largest professional social workers organization with 153,000 members, including more than 7,500 in Michigan, and advocates sound social policy.

"I am honored to have earned the support of Michigan's NASW membership," Segal said in a news release. "I know from my experience in federal, state and local government how vital social workers' roles truly are to maintaining the health and well-being of Michigan's citizens. Social workers across our state administer programs designed to protect the most vulnerable among us, and I am committed to maintaining funding for these programs — in order to ensure every child in Michigan has an opportunity to succeed."
